I hope this announcement finds you well and enjoying this beautiful Fall weather. Things have been busy with Project Echelon this month as we start to ramp up for the 2018 cycling season with the elite cycling team and as we seek to further expand our network in the SE Wisconsin community and support more veterans, especially as we get closer Veteran’s Day. Additionally, STEM Saratoga, a school in the School District of Waukesha that we support and mentor, just launched their #RidingForFocus program in collaboration with our sponsors at Specialized and VeloCity Cycling in Pewaukee
Additionally, on November 4th, the team and organization will be sharing our mission and vision with the Milwaukee community at the Veteran’s Day Parade. If you and/or your family would like to be a part of this event, please let me know by contacting us.
Here are some of the highlights from Project Echelon from this past month. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please let me know. Also, please feel free to share these things with your community!
Here are some of the exciting things that happened this month!
The “Teaser” for Eric Beach’s Quest for Kona episode on NBC Sports has been released. Take a sneak peek at his episode as he shares the amazing story of Project Echelon and how it has positively impacted his life and the life of others involved:
#RidingForFocus program update:
Thank you all for the positive response and emails of support from the work that we are doing. We are honored and privileged to be able to serve the veteran population and make a difference in our community. Our work would not be possible without your continued and unwavering support and advocacy.
CBS 58 ran a Prime Time story on the #RidingForFocus program… after the story ran last night, I received inquiries from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Waukesha Freeman, and Fox 6 to run stories as well! Lots of amazing and positive PR. Check out the video at the link below:
We attended the Waukesha County Veteran’s Resource Fair, where we were able to share the Project Echelon mission and vision with a number of veterans. We are hoping to make some strong connections and support these vets in their journey towards physical activity and self-discovery. Thank you to Trace-A-Matic and the team at Warrior Welcome Home for their support. See the flyer we handed out (attached).
Our sponsors at VeloCity and Specialized have worked hard to get our partner school at STEM Saratoga up and running with their #RidingForFocus program. The program is researching the positive impact of cycling of student engagement and focus in the classroom in collaboration with Stanford University and several other higher education institutions. The team is helping mentor students as they learn about bike safety, training plans, and simple mechanics.
Several members of the team decided to jump out of a perfectly good airplane in celebration of Maxwell Anderson’s birthday. Everyone made it back to earth safely… Teams that dive together, thrive together.
